Climbing My First 14er in Colorado, What I Learned

It’s been a long time goal of mine to hike a “14er” as their called in Colorado.

A Mountain that rises over 14,000 feet above sea level, in the middle of the rocky mountains! It just so happened that a friend of mine and fellow adventure enthusiast, AJ from Outdoors Podcast was traveling through Colorado this summer with his wife so plans we made for a road trip to the Rocky Mountain State, and Mount Princeton would be attempted.

Mount Princeton in a Nutshell

Mount Princeton is a prominent peak in the Sawatch Range of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, USA. It's one of Colorado's famous "Fourteeners," a term used for mountains that exceed 14,000 feet in elevation. Specifically, Mount Princeton stands at 14,197 feet (4,327 meters). Mount Princeton is also noted for its stunning natural surroundings, including hot springs at its base, and offers picturesque views of the surrounding landscape. The area is a favorite for outdoor activities like hiking, camping, and wildlife viewing. The peak's proximity to nearby towns such as Buena Vista and Salida also makes it a convenient destination for tourists exploring the Colorado Rockies.
